Service & Refreshments - Love Circle
(Oakwood,  no Good Shepherd)

Offerings are taken at Circle Meetings and General Meetings and go to support the Synod Women of the ELCA as well as our own women’s projects and gifts to other non-profit organizations.  Our women have purchased coffee for use by anyone in the church, as well as tables, dishes, remodeling in the kitchen and fellowship hall, etc.

Do Days – Each Wednesday any woman is welcome to join the quilters in the Fellowship Hall, who annually make hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief and other needs.  We sponsor an annual Blanket Sunday and Soap Sunday.  In addition, the women (and others) are encouraged to make Kits for LWR.

Service – Zion Women have a long history of service.  Some examples include:

  • Serving funeral lunches
  • Serving an Advent Supper and a Lenten Supper
  • Providing service or refreshments at the General Meetings and meetings of the Executive Board
  • Providing cookies and bingo prizes for Good Shepherd in Mason City
  • Maintaining a supply of cards and napkins for sale
  • Provide programs and refreshments for Oakwood Care Center

Contact Gaye Scott or the current ZWELCA President, Jan Hana at 923-2428, if you are interested in joining a circle or participating in other activities of the Zion Women.
