With the belief that God intended Health as the wholeness of body, mind, and spirit, Our Health Ministries’ mission is to serve by Looking to Zion partners as well as the community to Encourage and assist them in meeting their Needs, Enabling them to Serve and witness to Christ within their Surroundings.

2007 HEALTH FAIR 

Blood Pressure Clinics are held 3 times a year on Saturday from 5:00-5:30 and Sunday from 9:00-9:30 and 10:30-11:00.

Blood Drive – In February we host a blood drive for the Blood Center of Iowa.

Card Connection – Members of the Health Ministries Team take turns sending cards to those who are facing a serious health concern, and those who have had a new baby.

Prayer Walks are held monthly (if possible) in conjunction with the Prayer Vigil.

Information – Health tips and related information is provided on an occasional basis through the Zion weekly newsletter, (“The Shepherd”), the Senior newsletter (“In Touch”)  and on our Health Ministries bulletin board.  We have also provided books and resources in the church library for caring and support group ministries.

Caring Ministries includes:

• Home Communion Team – bringing the Sacrament of Holy Communion to shut-ins in their homes or other facilities
• Hospital Visitors – providing Monday through Friday visitation for those who are hospitalized locally
• Prayer Partners – shut-ins who are praying for the needs of Zion staff and ministries
• Visitation Committee – visiting those who have been released from the hospital or who have had a death or birth in the family
