Lenten Midweek Worship Series

Sermon Series-A Grateful Heart

Lent is a time of preparation for the events of Holy Week and the wonder of Easter. It is a good time to reflect on the many blessings of God. The Saints have always approached life with gratitude and thanksgiving for their many blessings. So Christians have long understood the spiritual benefits of a grateful heart. Today modern science and psychology confirm that people who approach life from a perspective of gratitude and thanksgiving are mentally and emotionally healthier and stronger. It is just one more confirmation of the truth and authority of scripture. This Lent we will focus on the many reasons to give thanks to God. Each week the homily will center on a particular story of thanksgiving from scripture. That will be followed with a personal story of thanksgiving by a Zion partner. The Biblical and the personal stories will combine to inspire and motivate all of us to live lives of thanksgiving and praise.
